Fantastic! November 2, 2008 This is my second Toro blower/vac. The first one I wore out the brushes by using it to dry carpet after a flood running it 24 hours a day for 3 days and at that time it was 2 years old. It is light weight and easy to handle. The best feature is the variable speed control. You are able to blow debris out of mulch and rocks without disturbing the mulch and rocks. This is a great product.
Toro Ultra Blower/Vac November 2, 2008 I love this thing! My husband and I took turns "vacuuming" the yard yesterday which of course needs it again today. We really took out those leaves in record time. It would be nice if the zipper for the bag was on the bottom instead of the side but overall, it was a fast and painless job. We had 2 bags of mulched leaves as opposed to 8 bags last year.
Toro electric leaf blower November 2, 2008 After being frustrated with gas leaf blowers I always have trouble starting, I decided to go for the Toro high powered leaf blower, vacuum-mulcher I read favorable reviews about. I have only used it twice, but am very impressed. It always starts( great!!!), does a great job blowing leaves. I have about 1,346,678 leaves- so it's a big job. It vacuums and mulches well, is light compared to many other units, isn't too noisy. I always thought that electric would not be as strong a blowing capability as the gas models, but this one is perfect. And I have a very large area to do. Highly recommended
Put away your rake! October 31, 2008 I have had another blower that has worked ok for a number of years. I have a big yard with lots of trees so fall cleanup is always a big deal. This year, while I was doing my normal routine of "blowing where I can and raking where I have to" I thought there had to be a better way. I researched high powered electric hand-held blowers. Upon finding the Toro #51599 I instantly ordered it. IT IS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING! I did my whole yard (normally a 2 - 3 day job with lots of raking and halling leaves on a tarp) in under 3 hours! The blower is so powerful that you can feel it recoil and push back when it is full power. The variable power works great too as you can dial exactly the amount of power you want (no more rock from my flowerbed out on my lawn).
This model truly performs as well as any gas model I have tried including some back pack models (and no mixing gas or fumes). The only downside is that I checked with a local Toro dealer and parts are hard to obtain. You might want to consider a replacement warrantee. Even if you don't, however, at this price, you can afford to get a new one every few years.
Can't be beat! October 31, 2008 This is my first blower/vacuum unit. After seeing it in a top rated consumers magazine I decided to give it a try. Does everything it says it can, is simple to use and switching from blower to vacuum is simple, and it chews those big leaf maple leaves to teeny shreds and takes a while to fill the included vacuum bag. Relatively quiet, doesn't stink like all those gas ones, lightweight and is at a great price for the product. And boy, does it BLOW! I believe their claim of 235mph pressure. No leaves and stuff wet or dry can hide from it! Don't hesitate on this one. Plus Amazons price can't be beat!
