Just a gem to use October 30, 2008 I have to tell you that this is a product well worth the money spent. It replaced a Toro I have had for 15 years which was still working but not near as well at this one. The blower works great and the vacumm is much improved over the last one. I replaced a Sears 6.75 hp leaf vacumm which was more trouble than what it was worth and was nothing but problems after the second year and it finally blew-up. I only wish I would have purchased the hose attachment and the spring loaded basket because it would make mulching leaves much easier. I will have them for the next leaf season. A+ unit
What a value! October 29, 2008 We live in the Northwest and when fall comes around so the leaves come down. The vacuum part is the only part I'm using, as I already own a backpack blower. I am very impressed as to it's vacuum ability with small leaves but not as happy with the "as large as dinner plate" maple leaves. When you have a leaf larger in diameter then the opening of the suction tube it has a tendency to stop the flow. You then have to rub the tube across the grass to dislodge the leaf or leaves to make them smaller and then continue. All in all, the mulching part certainly allows for more leaves in the waste container then without.
Does not meet expectation October 28, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Toro Ultra 12 Amp Variable Speed Electric Blower/Vacuum With Metal Impeller #51599The leave blowing performance is the same as the Toro 850 I got 10 years ago. It does not meet my expectation that the newer top electric blower should be much improved from the old Toro 850.
great vacuum, just be patient October 26, 2008 Its not a vacuum like in your house, it does take a bit to get those pesky leaves into your bag. Place that belt around your shoulders, or your back will feel it the next day. I also bought the utility bin and leaf hose. Don't put the vac on full blast or the top of the leaf cloth will fly off the bin. I also used the 8 foot hose and attached it onto a trash can and it also works, but that 8 foot hose seriously handicaps your mobility around the yard and try not get entangled with your electrical cord. Overall beats the old way of raking!!
Great fall tool for New England October 24, 2008 A very powerful leaf blower and vacuum. You need to find the comfortable grip to handle for extended periods. Can use the vacuum mulch feature without the bag and it is great.
