My first son had colic and I know these techniques would have helped. We bought this after the birth of my second son, and although he didn't have colic, it kept him so peacful! We had such a peaceful newborn experience and could so easily calm him with Dr. Karps techniques. I have since given it at many showers. The mothers are skeptical at first and after their babies are born I hear back from them about how appreciative they are for these techniques. WONDERFUL!

This is a must have, watch it during your 9th month so it will be fresh in your mind, and apply it right away when the baby is born.
Although you may hear or read about Dr Karp's method, I suggest to watch the video because if you don't do it exactly right it doesn't work.
This method works, and also in the video you'll find answers to many questions you may have and you'll also see how many parents are in the same boat, and you are not alone out there.
I have to say that I went to Dr. Karp's web site and send him an email with a question and he answered it on the same day, I was so surprised!!

We could not wait to watch this DVD since we were expecting our first child. First of all, the DVD recommended wrapping the baby in a blanket, this is nothing new, so is buying and using a swing. The only new technique was doing the "shshshshshshsh" sound right to the baby's ear. At first it worked for a few seconds, then baby cried more. I wish I could return this DVD and get my money back.

We received this DVD as a shower gift and completely forgot about it - until our daughter was nearly a month old, and was getting me up about every hour to nurse her, hardly ever actually calming down for the night until 2 AM. I found the DVD and watched it, and started applying the 5 S's immediately. Getting my daughter to go down for a nap was super easy. Best of all, I nursed her and put her to bed around 9, and she slept SOUNDLY until 1:30! Then, after eating, she slept again until 5! Amazing. I am a new woman, with a much happier baby. I am lending this DVD to everyone who has a small baby or will be taking care of one!!!! If it works like this every night, I want to find Dr. Karp and kiss him!!!!!

This is an excellent present for new parents. I got the video when my son was two months old, but I wish I would have had it before he was born. The techniques that Dr. Karp teaches you really work. His explanation of why babies are so fussy during the first three months of life helped me to put things in perspective and to understand that this stage wouldn't last forever.
