hours of fun July 7, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I read about this game winning awards and decided to get it for the family a few years ago. Whenever we have company someone wants to play. No dice to roll, no cards to read. It is never the same twice; the board looks different at the end of each game. It is important to not loose any pieces... We count them as we put them away into 4 different zip-lock bags. Great fun for all ages.
Not Just For Kids June 9, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
My 21 year old college student (math major) brought this home with a couple of friends and we enjoyd it so much we had to buy one. The only warning is to watch when playing with math and physic's majors (they think in shapes anyhow).
One of his friend's added fun to his play by seeking to accomplish certain goals each game, claim the exact center, go from corner to corner etc. And in our competative household, trying to gang up and block another player from being able to move was fair game too.
Captivating, relaxing, and fun! June 4, 2005 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My 9 year old received this for Christmas and we haven't stopped playing it since. We don't even put it away with the rest of our games, it's kept in the kitchen at all times so we can sneak a quick game or two before or after dinner. We've also had family tournaments that have become quite competitive. I only wish they made Blokus on a larger board for more players. It is theraputic after a long day to just relax and play a round or two. If your family is into game nights, this will surely be a hit for kids and adults alike. We are totally hooked!
great game May 8, 2005 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a wonderful game for children and adults. I introduced it to my adolescent special education class and to their delight they were competitive with peers and adults. This is because it challenges visual and spatial parts of the brain. It fits instructional objects for sustained attention, pattern recognition and spatial discrimination. No two games are alike. The students love the web site (...)where they play against the computer.
Simple to Learn and FUN! April 6, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My son (9 years old) saw this at the "teacher's store" by us and it's always sold out so he had to wait to get it. Boy was it worth the wait! He loves it! And we love it! All of his friends play and it's so easy to learn. The better you get at it, the more challenging the game. I'd recommend this to anyone! It's not a game that will sit on the shelf.
