Does the job November 9, 2008 I bought the Bissell 3106A Featherweight/lightweight vacuum a few months ago, and now I'm back to review it....
A few years ago, tired of buying mid-range priced disposable vacuums that lasted about 6 months, I spent quite a bit of money on a vacuum. It was great for about the first 6 months, but then started falling apart. I even had it repaired, but finally got so sick and tired of it working for about a month before needing a repair, I decided to try an extreme change of pace.
I selected this vacuum for my vinyl tiles and hard work floors. I wanted something light, that I could easily tote around. I expected a piece of junk at the price, but decided 'why not try it.' After all the expensive vacuum was a complete rip-off.
I really like the Bissell lightweight. It does the job and can also get into really small corners. It has great suction and leaves the surfaces clean. Plus it requires no bag, and that makes it even cheaper and simpler to operate. It's very easy to just snap the hinge and empty all the dirt.
The only complaint I have is that the cord could have been a little longer, but apart from that, I am really happy with this product. And if it breaks in another 6 months (at this point, I've used this model for almost 6 months), I'll just go buy a replacement.
Don't know how I lived without it! November 5, 2008 Since I have hardwood floors and a cat I am always sweeping, because I found the daily use of my vacuum way too cumbersome and painful for my back. I picked up this model, on a trip to the US, because I needed something that would fit in my suitcase. It is, as promised, really featherweight. I use it everyday and don't ever want to be without it again. It's so easy to use that it is almost fun to sweep with this. It seems like a toy, yet it pulls up all the cat hairs and dirt that blows in. It's great to use in corners too, as it's very easy to put on the attachment. It even works on one very low pile rug. The only thing I don't enjoy is taking it apart in every room to clean the very small filter/cup. I seem to have a hard time putting the vacuum back together again. Although the cord is not all that long, I just attached it to a heavy duty extension and leave it like that. I just wish I had bought this a long time ago.
Buy one for everyone you know! November 5, 2008 For such a lightweight vacuum, this thing does an impeccable job on hardwood floors. If you don't have time to pull out your big sweeper, grab this guy and voila! It's done in a flash! It's not made to pick up large pieces of dirt, etc., like dog food, etc., but for regular little things that get on your kitchen floor, baths, etc., it's a godsend. I hate to get out a huge vac just to pick up a small mess and this guy does the job every time. You can't really use it on carpets though, it just sucks so much that it gets a little "stuck" on the rugs. Great power in such a little guy and it even comes apart to sweep out your car! Highly, highly recommend!
Great stickvac -- easy to use October 31, 2008 Love this for my hardwood kitchen floor and for picking up sand at the beach. Suction is great for wood and wood laminate floors; probably not for carpets, but that's not what I needed. Bagless, easy to empty.
LOVE IT October 27, 2008 I bought this vacuum a few weeks ago, after we put hardwood in the living room and hallway. After we then put an area rug in the living room and runners in the hall, I found I needed something easy to quickly clean. I read many reviews and decided to go ahead and buy it. I want to tell you I LOVE IT. I think it is everything it claims to be. I have two dogs and it picks up the hair and any other floor dust easily. I do agree that the cord is short, but I permanantly attached an extention cord and problem solved. I find it easy to empty, easy to use the other attachment (which I rarely use, as the main one fits so many places) and it makes cleaning hardwood and vinyl floors a breeze. I waited a few weeks to review it, because I wanted to give the vacuum a chance to fail me, but it has not. The price is well worth it, and if I were to have to replace it every year........for 20 bucks, I would do it. OH, it also cleans the area rugs (very low pile) too. I have not tried it on the bedroom rugs (higher pile) nor would I expect it to work on them. So, I gladly give this product a five star rating!!! I love how lightweight and easily handled that it is. (funny sentence, but you get it!!) If you are looking, look no more.
