Perfect!! December 15, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This product is perfect for waxing small areas. I use it on my very sensitive skin above my lip and have had no problems. With old strip waxing at the salon, my skin was red for hours followed by a rash that would last for days. I discovered this product when I started working at Bloomingdale's and my coworker urged me to try it. I was skeptical and didn't believe the hype but I didn't have anything to lose since I would have just returned it if it didn't work. Over two years later I am still using this product.
I have saved probably hundreds of dollars over the years and the hassle of going to the salon for hair removal. People have commented on heating the wax - I have a small pot dedicated to heating the wax that I got for about five dollars. This product is definitely worth the "wait" to heat up - if you call waiting for 15 minutes while I do other things around my house waiting. I highly recommend this product, particularly for people with sensitive skin who want to wax.
Great stuff July 15, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I don't usually write reviews, but I just had to speak up when I noticed the negative reviews on this great product. I have been using this for about 3 years now, and I think it is the ONLY worthwhile wax at-home product available. I had spent a lot of money on other wax products over the counter that did not work, prior to trying this one. It is gentle and extremely effective, and it is "professional quality" equal to that you would find in a salon. The key is to buy a cheap wax melter like the salons use. I bought mine ("Profiles" Spa is the brand) for about $35 on the internet. I agree that I also quickly became tired of melting the wax over the stove. You don't see the salons do that either, do you? Why would you then? I think it is a GREAT shame to pass up this fantastic product. Buying a small electric wax melter quickly pays off for the money you would save in only 2 waxes!
Not a time-saver or aggravation-saver June 17, 2007 I bought this product so that I would not have to go out to have my legs waxed. I've used bliss products a lot, so I figured this would be great, even for a beginning home-waxer. It wasn't. Like the other reviews said, it took awhile (20 mins) to melt to the right consistency, I had to keep putting it back in the water bath to maintain the right consistency, and it was quite messy in and out of the mug. Getting the layers the right thickness to get all the hairs, avoid cracking, and have enough to pull was really, really difficult. Placing the wax to get all the hairs was really time-consuming, too, but that could be me (hobbits have less leg hair). I ended up using the entire mug for just my legs. I had expected to have more left over, at least to get my brows, but I didn't. Finally, it left a lot of residue that was REALLY difficult to remove. I won't be buying it again. While it's cheaper than the spa, the costs in time and aggravation don't make the product worth it.
Have plenty of time to spend June 28, 2006 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is a great product in many ways except one. It takes FOREVER to melt and if you put it in a pan you wish to use to cook food forget it; the metal cup it sits in with scratch the bottom of your pan. It does work really well once you get the hang of the long stringy bits of wax (telling you to reheat your cup o' wax) and get in the rhythm. It is something I will continue to use, but wish it didn't take so long to melt. You really have to block out time if you are going to use this product.

This is an excellent product for waxing. I heat this in a pot with water that just heats the bottom half of the wax, this takes about 20 minutes. It is a bit tricky at first to get the temperature right so its not too runny or too hot but once you get that down its pretty easy. This is a dark blue wax. You just smear a thin layer of wax with the spatula they provide, about an inch wide, onto the part of your body you want waxed and then wait for it to dry, which is a short time, and then you pull off the wax along with the hair, there is no need for cloth strips, etc. It will get every single hair. The only other thing is it can get a bit messy so have an old towel to catch any wax that may spill or drip. This is the only reason I give it 4 stars too. I have this product and will continue to use it.
