When I add this procuct over the bare minrals foundation it doesn't get rid of all of the shine and I really prefer a matte look. It also easily becomes cakey if you apply too much.
Also, this is a very pale powder. They say it is translucent but it's not. I am fair with a light tan in the summer and this is too pale for my skin tone. So after doing my makeup perfectly, I sweep this over my face then suddenly I look pale!
I don't recommend this product.

I received a jar of mineral veil when I bought the Get Started kit. Although I don't use the BE mineral makeup anymore, I do use the mineral veil almost daily.
So what's to like about it? First, mineral veil is transparent so you can apply as much as you want to. Second, my face is very oily especially on my nose and under my eyes and forehead so I was hoping that this stuff would diminish it. Fortunuately, it does help in reducing oil. It also does a pretty good job of keeping my mineral makeup in place and it helps it stay on longer.
Now for the negatives. Although this is almost expected, I do have to apply this once every few hours because where I work, I'm running around a lot and the buildup of oil comes back and practically melts the mineral makeup off of my face. If I'm not at work, I only have to reapply it maybe 8 hours or so. However, I live in sunny Florida where 10 minutes in the sun can remove all traces of makeup. This would probably work better for people who live in not so humid climates. Second, as another reviewer pointed out, mineral veil can produce acne. I had the same problem with acne on my chin. However, I don't think the acne is formed directly by the mineral veil. It also has a lot to do with how you apply it. I've noticed that when I apply a lot of mineral veil and buff very well with my BE brushes, the acne shows up more than if I were to use less mineral veil and casually brush it on.
I'm thankful I got a jar of this stuff so I could at least try it. It works but not as well as it should considering the steep price tag. I probably won't be buying it again when I run out.

If you have ever had inflammatory acne, be very cautious about using Mineral Veil. After using this for a few days, my chin broke out in a weird, bumpy rash that looked like poison ivy. I went to the dermatologist who told me it was an inflammatory acne outbreak caused by the main ingredient in this powder--corn starch. I am almost NEVER allergic to skin products, so this shocked me since Bare Minerals is supposed to be very hypoallergenic. Apparently it isn't for all people. Be aware.

This is the perfect finishing powder to the Bare Minerals foundation. I even put a bit on under foundation to control my oily skin. I rarely have to reapply, and when I do it doesn't get cakey. To those who say this product offers "bad coverage"- this product isn't meant to provide coverage, that's what the foundation and concealors are for. This is to control shine and set the rest of your makeup, I absolutely love it!

I have been using this product since October 2006 and it is the best makeup out there. Besides the fact it looks amazing it also helps with your skins condition. I never had really bad ache but rather little bumps and breakouts every so often. After about a week in a half of using it my face quit breaking out. Seriously it cleared up my skin better than anything I have ever used before. A week and a half ago I ran out of my mineral veil and really didn't think anything of it until my face started to breakout again. Needless to say I will have an extra one ready when I run out next time. I have forgotten how miserable it is to have non-clear skin. Another thing I like about it is that it doesn't run when you sweat or workout. This is the best makeup out there!
