Life-shifting stuff! March 17, 2006 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
Simply reading the book OR LISTENING (even in the background) to the CD's..the next day....Oh my God, life is more tranquil, people react differently...etc...and it STILL happens with every reading and after every day of listening to these incredible CD's.
Every single word Eckhart writes/speaks is accurate (in my opinion). Listen to what he says then step out into life and watch.
You don't even have to hear or understand every word to gain the immediate results within yourself and life...NO BOOK has acheived this so profoundly. NONE.
So-so March 14, 2006 23 out of 41 found this review helpful
The views stated in the book are no more, no less similar to those of Krishnamurti and Osho, to name a few. You'd be better off reading those individuals.
Amazing! March 12, 2006 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Tolle has written a book that is both simple and very deep! I find that listening to him read it is like having my soul cared for. It is hard to put into words how incredible this work is! It is worth so much to me. I believe that everyone would greatly benefit from reading it.
This book changed my life March 12, 2006 16 out of 21 found this review helpful
As long as I spend 30 minutes a day reading and rereading "A New Earth" I'm often able to watch the ego and not become totally identified with the incessant thoughts running through my mind. I am having more and more glimpses of inner-peace when I practice the exercises Eckhardt Tolle suggests. Just reading the book once may not make such profound changes since the ego is very clever but as long as the reader continually reads and meditates on Tolle's profound wisdom, an opening of a change of consciousness emerges.I've written up the exercises that are interspersed throughout the book and the most salient points so that I can review them throughout the day.
A great guide to enlightenment March 10, 2006 10 out of 14 found this review helpful
This is unquestionably the best life guidance book ever written if you are in pursuit of enlightenment; that is, an understanding of the true nature of life, the universe, and everything (to steal a famous line). It is a Bible of the New Age and should be read and re-read over time to use as a guide to a better, happier life. Tolle skillfuly selects quotes from the Christian Bible and other religious texts to exemplify his points and presents them in a modern, understandable form. The concept he is teaching is very simple: there is only NOW, but the ramifications of actually "getting it" are truely miraculous. If you are interested in spirituality but the organized religions of today leave you puzzled and unfulfilled, please read this book as well as its predecessor "The Power of Now".
