A new Earth is enlightening and draws attention to the the inner being of human development and spirituality. The earth truly would be a better place to life if everyone were awakened to their lifes purpose.
 Resonates but rambles October 4, 2008
Eckhart gives a positive message and a great philosophy on how to live life. I thought half of it was padding though. I was particularly put off by the constant injection of quotes from Jesus/Buddha/whoever to "prove" a point yet completely ignoring or lacking any context. It gets a bit "hippie" but the concepts are valid.

I had a hard time getting into this book and finally had to put it to the side as I just couldn't finish reading it. It was one of those books I just couldn't connect with.

As part of a Scripture study group, we decided to stretch in choosing this book. It is scriptural by reference as opposed to total content. In a group of twelve, two to three were put off itially because it didn't have the structure we had been used to, four to five have 'jumped in with both feet' and the remaining are gradually open to participating. I have a deep and cherished foundation and practice in my faith. As humans, we all have a foundation spiritality before alligning ourselves with organized religion and the discovery of this basic reality is where Tolle takes you. I do like the work and would recommend it to you if you are willing to be open to discovering the 'who' and 'what' of what it means to becoming fully human.

A remarkable book that is capable of changing lives through changing consciousness. If more people read this book and BE, it really will be "A New Earth". I have found this book comprehensive in its drawing together of so many issues that plague humanity and giving clear guidance as to what to do (or not do) to get in touch with what is always there - our true inner essence. As a psychologist working with many people struggling with thoughts and emotions, I would strongly recommend this book to anyone wishing to experience inner peace.
