Amazing May 4, 2006 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
This book (audio version) not only gives the down-to-earth explanations of our existance but gives us the tools so we can become aware and make changes we wish to make. I am an avid reader on this type of work from many sources but this book far exceeds most. I resonated with what was said and understood with ease. I will listen to this book many times as it is a comfort as well as instructional.
The Time is Now April 30, 2006 6 out of 19 found this review helpful
This is a great book for anyone interested in exploring the possibilities of life.
In it Tolle invites the reader to consider simple things - the 'is-ness' of a flower, the expanding (and arguably)contracting universe, the importance of living a life in the now, of living in accordance with nature and your own true essence to find your life's purpose.
Easy to read - a timely book.
Refreshing for the spirit April 23, 2006 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
This book expresses Tolle's vision of more and more people becoming enlightened to the truth of what we are, and through this a new earth where there is not so much blood shed through egoic selfishness.Tolle finally goes into a little detail about himself. He is a spiritual master with out a religion. His vision of a new earth is like the Anti-book of revelation we find in the Bible his book is positive and uplifting.I rank his modern writings at the same spiritual level as the best of the bible and Buddism.
How to build a more loving world April 20, 2006 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
A NEW EARTH: AWAKENING TO YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE provides both a spiritual classic and a commentary on how to build a more loving world as a whole: it could have been featured in our religious section but is profiled here for its wider-ranging insights for new age readers. Chapters link personal transformation to the wider goals of evolutionary transformation of human society as a while. His survey of the new consciousness contrasts present consciousness with future goals which hold important insights for the nature of human evolution as a whole.
Excellent source of spiritual self improvement March 29, 2006 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
Facing emptiness during a string of unfulfilling jobs forced me to take action; there has to be more to life, this series and other Eckhart books helped me through the transition I am making in my life and I have not had this much joy for a long time. I was ready for this, really hitting bottom emotionally, but knowing there is purpose for living another day; I always regected organized religion for spiritual direction and without getting too heavy Eckhart speaks in terms that does not make my stomach knot up when he does speak of religious philosophies such as Zen Buddhism and Christianity strictly for the purpose of understanding yourself and getting a handle on your situation, I very much recommend this. Right up there with "The Four Agreements" another must read for living a peaceful and meaningful life. Good luck to all, you are worth the investment!
