5 out of 5 stars Buying Apartment Complexes in Emerging Markets...Your Path To Riches   January 11, 2008
This may have been a Better Title to this book...I thought it was very well written...Covers many subject so that you can invest in Emerging Markets...Dave uses Apartment Complex investing as the primary type of Real Estate property in this book...Which was my main interest when I bought this book...However, the Emerging Markets theory would work for many types of Real Estate Properties...This books covers all the steps for this topic...Finding, Financing, Management, Pitfalls to avoid, Exit Strategies, and much more...It is definitely worth the money...Also, there is a Special Offer on his website with this book, where you will get additional materials, FREE of charge...

3 out of 5 stars Good book, esp. for those interested in apartment investing   December 28, 2007

Emerging Real Estate Markets is a good book for those wishing to invest in commercial real estate, especially apartment buildings. When I bought the book, I was more interested in investing in individual homes or condos, but that is not the main focus of the book.

With respect to emerging markets, the author doesn't talk about specific up-and-coming markets (e.g. Florida markets, etc.), but he does tell the reader how to identify markets which he refers to as:
- Buyer's Market Phase I
- Buyer's Market Phase II
- Seller's Market Phase I
- Seller's Market Phase II

Most of the rest of the book is about how to do a deal, where to find money, how to inspect the property, etc.

This author clearly knows his stuff and his writing style is good. If you're looking to invest in multi-unit apartment buildings, and you're looking for advice on everything from finding a deal to closing a deal, then this would be a good book to read!

3 out of 5 stars decent, although main theme is not emerging markets   December 17, 2007

This book is pretty decent providing useful information, although there are some points I disagree with. The purpose of the book is to plug his website and tutorial products. Although the book discusses emerging markets (local markets on the upswing) this is standard advice given in any real estate book. It's not like the whole book specializes on that topic. The book focuses on multi-unit apartment buildings.

More accurate title: Decent book on investing in multi-unit apartments and lots of plugs for my website and products.

5 out of 5 stars A Bible for Real Estate Investing, The Fundementals for Long Lasting Success   December 9, 2007

Like another reviewer here, I found this book on amazon and read the good reviews and great comments shown on the back cover. David Lindahl educates exactly what the title says and also advocates the investing of multi-family units, showing how to get there, what to avoid, How to manage, and paints a bright future of possibilities.

Emerging Real Estate Markets lives up to what I had hoped to expect and more. I am beginner investor and avidly looking for good education on the topic. I have read a few books now and usually the problems with them is that they lack the details of where to find certain information or something else that becomes a big question mark. So far this is the only book where that this has not been the case. Granted, we beginners must also get started which also starts to fill in the blanks.

Theory can be explained in real estate as generalizations or as facts, steps and examples. For anyone trying to learn something new with the hope that the information will stick and be useful, generalizations should be held to minimum. The Author, David Lindhl, has done a fantastic job overall to provide us with his formula for success. All the information you need to get started is in here. I have other hand-me-down course material that cost 10x the price of this book and not of the same quality.

In addition, This is a very well read book that flows well and makes sense. Its enjoyable reading and well worth the price.

I have not read a book with this level of detail and enthusiasm for sometime. This book is what I would consider REQUIRED READING for all beginner investors. Understanding Emerging Markets in essential!
There is also a great deal of tips for a seasoned investor as well.

If you are seasoned or expert investor in search of more about commercial properties, you might want to take a look at this book: Confessions of a Real Estate Entrepreneur By Jame Randel.

Dave's one of the best mentor's in this industry, ever. His systems are tried and true; follow them to success. This book puts into writing what he teaches at his boot camps, and in an organized way that can be quickly accessed again and again.

Thanks Dave,

Ed Kruzel
