Best Book of the Year: November 10, 2007 2 out of 9 found this review helpful
I would recommend this book to anyone who is pursuing a career in Real Estate. The greatest thing about this book is the casual style it's written in. You can read it without feeling like you're reading a book, instead of a real estate guru is talking to you face to face personally and want to see you success. This book is the best; I'm in the real estate business, own too many real estate books. I only wish I had started with this one first, this book has such a great way of presenting the material as it relates to the real life experience. Somebody with no experience or not much experience must read this book, listen to Mr. Lindahl's guidance, implement his ideas, follow his foot step, for sure you will be success and wealthy too. Dave Lindahl is a real estate genius, I always buy new real estate book to enhance my knowledge and expertise from others and searching for ideas, I like many books and learn from them, but this is the second book I took some time in my busy schedule and write this review (one review in last year and this one in this year). It's great, easy to understand and make sense I highly recommend this book. People hate to read, will like to read this book as well, I wish I could praise more, his book, his ideas, his vision and his commitment to share his practical knowledge with others (Not may thinks that way)
Real Estate Investment 101 November 2, 2007 28 out of 35 found this review helpful
A friend of mine wants to buy her first house but she wants to read a couple of books first to avoid making any major mistakes in this declining real estate market. As a former realtor, I offered to do some research on Amazon and help her find a right books.
In the process of reading review after review for many real estate investment books, I stumbled upon this one. I read the reviews and bought it kind of impulsively, because it seemed like a good choice for her.
As I got into the book, I found that it was exactly the right book for her, and I found myself impressed and surprised at the quality of the advice included in this book. Although this book was written for real estate investors, I found the information to be really right on the money and I felt that it would translate nicely for someone who wants to buy a single family house.
Typically, investment books exaggerate either the upside or the downside or both. Emerging Real Estate Markets seems pretty real world to me, revealing realistic challenges and rewards for the serious real estate investor.
For me, the most valuable part of this book are the sections that specifically address finding potentially profitable real estate markets BEFORE they become obvious. Very very insightful and helpful.
This is a great book for anyone working in real estate, anyone wanting to buy a house, or anyone who is currently actively investing in real estate.
This Book Is A MUST Buy If You're Serious About Investing October 24, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Mr. Lindahl has done a great job of putting together a comprehensive guide to investing the correct way! Essentially, this is a book about how to do your homework up front, so that you can be confident going into a deal that it is going to be a money maker for you. This is a must read if you want to learn one of the true untold secrets of many real estate millionaires. You should unquestionably own this book!
You will learn how to identify promising markets by identifying what stage of the real estate market cycle they are in. Lindahl correctly points out that different stages of the market cycle require different investing strategies, and he walks you through the different criteria and tactics that will help to make you successful regardless of the market you're in.
In the spirit of full disclosure, I should say that I am an attorney, real estate broker, investor, trainer, and author of another unique and highly readable book on real estate investing that can also be found here on Amazon -- The WealthLoop Series Beginner's Guide to Building Wealth Buying Houses: The Foolproof Roadmap to Real Estate Riches Without the Risks and Hassles of Landlording. The book also includes sample leases, forms, and checklists, so that you can actually go out and implement the investing strategy it teaches as soon as you're done reading.
I believe that Lindahl has written an informative book that's worthy of your time. Buy it if you are serious about making a success of real estate investing.
Finally someone reveals "How to Identify Emerging Markets" before they emerge! October 23, 2007 10 out of 15 found this review helpful
This book is impressive overall but Chapter 2 stands out significantly as one of my favorite chapters. Dave explains that every real estate market cycles up and down and that at any particular time each market falls into one of four phases of the market cycle. He also reveals the characteristics of each phase so, not only can you determine what phase your market is currently in, but you can identify which markets are ready to emerge. Most importantly, he gives details on how to invest in each phase of the cycle so you can explode your wealth rather than lose it.
If you are looking to explode your wealth via real estate, this is the book you need to read.
This is the real deal ... I know I use it October 23, 2007 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
Dave Lindahl is the real deal. Dave taught me the strategies that are explained in his book and I know they work. He is an active investor who practices what he preaches. The information found in his book is straight forward, easy to understand yet covers all the necessary topics in investing in emerging markets. A must read for the beginner as well as the seasoned investor.
