had creepy feeling reading this.....didn't finish it November 17, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading all of the glowing testimonials on the book, I bought it with the anticipation of feeling all of the emotions reviewers have felt- hope, love, peace, joy, redemption.......etc........ I got to about page 70 or so and had to put it down. I had such a horrible feeling reading about the abduction of this six year old girl whose dress was found drenched in blood- I didn't care what was going to be said in the rest of the book - I needed to stop. Instead of feeling positive feelings, I started worrying abut all of my loved ones, and imagined what it would feel like to be in this situation. Perhaps this is an easy read for some- but for me, I wish I had never picked this book up.

I never recieved my order- so don't buy from this bookstore.I wrote asking for a refund and never heard from them.
Wonderful book! November 17, 2008 I loved this book. It was very powerful and if you have questions about God, it is such a great way to look at it. Very comforting when you are struggling or have doubts about life and love. I highly recommend it.
Wonderful Theology November 17, 2008 I was fairly certain that I wanted this book even before I bought it. We have a "book bunch" in our church who meet each Wednesday evening to discuss various authors & books. We have been on this book, The Shack, for about 6 weeks. I like the idea that God is approachable. The black woman character gives me that idea & feeling. I would rather have had just "God" and not "Jesus" & "Sarayu." I think the author could have gotten his point across without the "Trinity." As my husband has said, "there is more theology in this book than I got in Seminary.

It has been 45 days since ordering. I have been billed. I filed a complaint with Amazon and the vendor and received no response. I am frustrated taht there is no way to contact Amazon direct about the order and talk to a live person.
