Very Interesting Book September 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm really enjoying the book. Although, I will warn, that it is more for those who already have a business then for those just starting one but it is still very helpful for motivation and creating a plan. I still highly recommend it.
Powerful personal and business resource September 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I thought "The Answer" was an outstanding read. It does an exceptional job of combining powerful research from the fields of neuroscience, quantum physics, and other disciplines with practical, results-oriented business strategy. For me, it brought credibility to some of the most important concepts regarding the Law of Attraction. Likewise, it highlighted some critical success strategies for business owners (much like some of the E-Myth content). All of that combined with a friendly, down-to earth writing style and a collection of excellent real-world examples. This book will go on my list of recommended reading for clients and readers due to its accessibility and real-world application.
Great Book September 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a retired CPA with a graduate degree.
This book is a must for all including those who want to be a great employee or have their own business.
Logical, Sensible, and Motivational Advice for business owners September 13, 2008 John Assaraf, author and a key speaker in the movie The Secret, has partnered with entrepreneur Murray Smith to create an instructional tool for business owners. The Answer is aimed primarily at small business owners who may not be experiencing success commensurate with their efforts. The premise merges the principles of The Law of Attraction with common sense marketing strategies to jump start lackluster sales. The authors have transformed themselves into multi-millionaires utilizing the techniques they expound in the book.
Both authors have a "rags to riches" story to relate that exemplifies the potential behind following their plan. Assaraf was a poor immigrant who fell into gang activity in high school and lost a promising athletic career to injury. Smith was a special needs student, labeled as learning disabled and directed into vocational school to begin a career cleaning sewers.
Despite the obstacles laid before them and the limited encouragement they received, they refused to place limits on their chances of success. Each man went on to create multiple thriving business ventures. They have surrounded themselves with wealth and prosperity.
Assaraf and Smith begin by explaining that each has unique skills and expertise that complement the other, therefore the book is divided into two separate focuses. The first half is written by Assaraf and centers around positive affirmations and visualization. He provides exercises for neural reconditioning. Murray's second half guides the reader in marketing and strategy, identifying the ideal customer, and working to attract that customer to the business.
The Answer is the most logical book to be veined from the empire that has arisen around The Secret. It draws on scientific evidence and quantum physics to prove the validity of the Law of Attraction. Beyond the law, it provides valuable analytical tools for proving a business' worth to potential customers. The rules can be applied to any venture a person decides to undertake, whether it be business or personal.
The writing style is straightforward and unencumbered. Possible questions the text may evoke are addressed in various locations throughout each chapter. Assaraf and Smith provide some revolutionary insight into recognizing the barriers small business owners can create for themselves.
As a reader, I know there is an incredible amount of hype surrounding The Secret and its many facets. The participants are banking unimaginable profits from the subsets of the idea they have individually created. In fact, I just read today that Joe Vitale is releasing a new course titled The Awakening and Marci Shimoff is hosting a PBS special by the same name of her book Happy for No Reason. But I can't help but believe in the legitimacy of the core theme that we create our own realities. Science is providing more evidence of this every day. If these books serve as nothing more than motivational tools, that's great. But really considering the subject matter can open readers up to many realms of possibility and create a positive influence in daily life.
On that note, I have to say that I highly recommend The Answer. I recommend it to business owners, entrepreneurs, intellectuals, spiritual seekers, and Law of Attraction junkies. Use it as the next step in rounding out your attraction strategy.
Reach for the Stars But Keep Your Feet Planted September 11, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
"The Answer" is inspiring asking you to dare to live your dream but it also offers practical ideas to help you grow your business. When I read the book I felt that I could reach for the stars but the practical ideas in the book kept my feet firmly planted on the ground. Definitely worth reading if you're looking for ways to apply the Law of Attraction in your own business.
Another must-read is "Nexus: A Neo Novel." I found it an inspiring journey where deeper truths are hidden in a brilliant psychological adventure tale.
