One of the worst books I've ever read January 6, 2009 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I read the whole book and I found it awful from start to finish. I only finished because of the hype. I kept hoping it would improve and in the end it would be worth the effort. I can't imagine why anyone would waste the paper and the ink. The book has no plot. There isn't any story being told. There isn't any character development. It reads like a diary. I'd expect a better first-draft from a high-school student.

I don't know when I have ever enjoyed reading a book as much as this one and absolutely!!!!! HATED the ending.
enchanting! January 5, 2009 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
this is one of my favorite books. Although it seems to be quite a long read (coming from the girl who finished the twilight saga into three days) it held my attention throughout the entire journey. Edgar is a charming character whom I fell in love with the first twenty pages.

DISAPPOINTED January 5, 2009 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had such high hopes when I started the book, first I found it very "wordy" with too much analyzing the characters thoughts, etc. While I love to hear about dogs, there was too much detail about each and every training session by both Trudy and Edgar. It was not a "page turner" but I kept wading though and was so appalled at the ending that dragged on and on - I was wishing the whole place would burn down! Sorry that a book which seemed to have it all and appeared on best seller lists turned out to be so disappointing!
