Living the Life April 26, 2007 13 out of 38 found this review helpful
Tim has it right on... live every day to it's fullest and by our rules. He proves that we can have our cake and eat it too... pure inspiration to "live the life". Great read for anyone who lives or wants to live outside the box.
A refreshing antidote to the madness of the 9-5 lifestyle April 26, 2007 14 out of 29 found this review helpful
From a personal point of view, I like this book because it validates a lot of my own feelings and beliefs about balancing one's work life and personal life. I think this book touched me because I am already half way along the path he describes. And it was of value to me, because several chapters gave me insights into how I can complete the journey.
I believe it is madness to devote one's adult life to working 9 to 5, and then to think about finding fun and joy in one's life only after retirement.
As with any lifestyle book, you just need to find one page or one sentence that resonates with your own values and ambitions - and that makes the purchase worthwhile.
The Living Truth April 25, 2007 10 out of 26 found this review helpful
What makes this book all the more enticing is that this is the way Tim actually has lived. He's barely hitting 30 years old and he has managed to live a life that many have tried to live. This is a book about the methods he lives his life by. After seeing the results, that alone makes the book a must-read.
This review would be longer, but I'm on a time diet April 25, 2007 18 out of 34 found this review helpful
Unlike other self-help and business books, The 4-Hour Workweek is extremely effective at making you extremely effective. It makes you quicker, quicker. Key takeaways: look for the 20% of your effort that's driving 80% of your results. Focus on doing more of that high-return stuff, and get rid of the rest (either by eliminating or outsourcing). Not just for those who want to work four hours a week, but for those who want to be more efficient, effective, and profitable. Highly recommended.
An amazing tool! April 25, 2007 9 out of 26 found this review helpful
This book is by far the best tool Ive found to help me reach the lifestyle I aspire too. Many authors outline philosophies or ideals, but Ferriss has demonstrated the steps necessary to attain those ends. Being a recent college grad myself, the 4-hour work week has helped me formulate a plan for the future, and given me the tools I needed to implement it!
