Truly extraordinary February 24, 2007 Words can not adequately describe this book. A friend of mine (whose taste in literature I trust) handed me this book, explaining to me that trying to describe would only sell it short from how amazing it truly was. So, with that in mind (there are only a handful of books that I can honestly say are that good), I read Twilight. It's been a long time since I've read such a personality-driven book. Stephenie Meyer has such a realistic and perfect grasp of human (and in this case vampire) nature that it blew me away. Dialogue in this book is extraordinary; I can actually picture most of these exchanges taking place. That said, the plot is so unpredictable and GOOD (again, I'm at a loss for a better word) that rereads lead to new discoveries. Being more familiar with vampire-lore than most, this spin on vamps is equally refreshing and brilliant. Fantastic in every sense of the word, Twilight is a promise of more to come, for which I am extensively excited about. I should probably also note that due to Twilight, I will probably never have a satisfactory romantic relationship. My standards are far too high. Yes, Edward is really that perfect.
Loved it! February 23, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In my study hall I saw this book lying on the ground. I read the back, and wasn't sure I'd like it. I read it, and read it again, and again, and, well you get the picture! I now own both books currenly out on the market! :)

Twilight: A review
An evil vampire slowly approaches you, his eyes hungry. You are in pain, tortured, slipping away into blackness. This vampire, whose normally blood-red eyes are black with hunger for your blood, is going to kill you, and you can't do a single thing to stop it. This is a scene from Twilight, and is only the tip of the iceberg. This book is about Bella Swan, a clumsy human seventeen-year-old, Edward Cullen, a vampire who sucks animal blood instead of human, and an evil, human-killing, sadistic vampire named James, intent on torturing Bella to death. I highly recommend Twilight to anyone who likes a thrilling, romantic, exciting story.
Isabella Swan, or Bella for short, moves to Forks, Washington the rainiest place on Earth. She hates this little town and never guesses that moving here will give her true love- and an exciting adventure. Edward Cullen and his family, Alice Cullen, Emmett Cullen, Carlisle Cullen, Esme Cullen, Jasper Hale, and Rosalie Hale are vampires, but unlike normal vampires, who drink human blood, this family drinks animal blood to avoid being monsters and demons. James is an evil, sadistic vampire who drinks human blood. Bella and Edward fall in love, but when James begins to hunt Bella, she flees to Phoenix, Arizona. There she evades James, but he lures her to him like a fish on a string. He nearly kills her when Edward, Emmett, Carlisle, Jasper, and Alice come to the rescue. They kill James and save Bella from both dying and becoming a vampire. This book deserves two thumbs WAY WAY WAY up!
This book has tons of exciting parts. For example, Bella is in the parking lot on an icy day. Suddenly, a van loses control and is about to crush when Edward is suddenly there, pushing back the van and saving Bella from a gruesome, ugly death. Also, of course the scene where James is going to kill Bella. That scene is probably my second favorite. My first favorite is not exciting in an action-y sort of way, but it is still thrilling.
I would recommend this book because it is well written with vivid details, and life-like characters. Also, it has some humor. For example, Bella has several accidents, because she is very clumsy. Edward is funny in a distinct sort of way that endears him to readers.
In conclusion, I would have to say this is one the best books I have ever read, and I can't wait to get a hold of the sequel, New Moon. - T. Sprock
Definitley the BEST BOOK EVER! February 22, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I initally borrowed this book from a friend of mine, and fell in love with it. I was (and still am not) a huge vampire fan, so I wan't sure if I would like it. I found myself rereading it... 5 times! I then bought New Moon and Twilight so I could enjoy them forever. It's one of the books I NEVER get tired of!
