how annoying can Bella be? December 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is seriously ridiculous. What is wrong with Bella? She doesnt even deserve Edward in her life. And i just want to kick Edward for being in love with a total idiot. Bella is so annoying and irritating in this book, and what is up with this whole love triangle. And Jacob the perfect DOG, making Bella believe that she is in love with him. I am so disappointed with this book.
Exciting, engaging, and leaves you wanting more. December 29, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I really loved the Twilight saga... Although book 1 is probably my favorite, I definitely thought Eclipse was the next best book in the series when read (or listened to in my case since I bought all 4 audio books) from front cover to back. It really keeps you engaged and builds the relationship between not only Bella and Edward but also builds the reader into the relationship with all of the Cullen's and Quiluete wolf pack. It was great and exciting til the last page!
Author appears amatuerish in this one... December 29, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
To say that I didn't enjoy Eclipse is an understatement. In my opinion, Stephenie Meyer came off as an amateur in this book. The previous installments displayed a love so pure and this book throws in a third party that gobbled up way too many pages. It almost seems as if Edward represents the author's husband, someone she is obligated to end up with, while Jacob represents the high-school boyfriend she wishes she'd chosen. It makes no sense for Bella to have a difficult time choosing between Edward and anyone else - not when the author has her ready to turn over mortality and grasping at death at the idea of being with Edward.
I found the book to be disjointed, and by the end I hated more of it than I liked. I don't think I could sit through a movie of this book if it ever made it. And I can't imagine why true fans of the story of Bella and Edward would enjoy this book. Bella came off as cruel and Jacob was the most annoying character in print. I spent the entire book hoping he'd get killed. He was so nasty that I was sure he was the mastermind behind all of the horrible things that were happening in the book.
In addition to the many things that didn't make sense, was Bella's reluctance to accept a marriage proposal from Edward. I think even Meyer herself knew this was absurd and did her best to give the character an excuse, but it didn't make any sense at all. Especially when, in the previous book, Bella rushed off towards her death to save a then-absent Edward, whom she wasn't even sure still cared about her.
I am very disappointed in this book.
