 A lecture to listen to May 4, 2008

To admit it front-up: I'm biased by viewing the Last Lecture online, which impressed me beyond words. So did the book: I read it from first page to last, and I feel I have learnt a lot on each and every page of it. I've attended a number of "regular" - and very good - last lectures. Compared to Randy Pausch's lecture, those "regular" ones were more or less focused on a certain area of research, typically the lecturer's field of work. Randy Pausch's Last Lecture describes his ways to fulfill his dreams - he gives an account of how he succeeded in living an exceptionally productive and fulfilled life, and describes his key points succinctly and clearly. Many thanks to him for this wonderful book.
Clear, concise, life inspiring words May 3, 2008

I read it in one sitting. It is not morose or depressing as it could have been. This end of life book reflects on the importance of life, on attaining goals, on treating people responsibly, on the importance of giving back and most of all, the writers love of his family. I pray that medical science and G-d see fit for this man to elude his diagnosis. He has so much more to offer his family, his students and himself being on this planet.

This is an amazing book!!! I can't stop smiling while reading it. Randy Pausch talks about what really matters in life, reaching your dreams and the importance of the family too. For sure is THE BEST LECTURE!

Randy Pausch's Last Lecture is a must have for anyone, at any point in life. While the book touches on Randy's personal history and current health status, it is a recipe for living with care and appreciation for people in our lives and all facets of life. The book cannot be compared to the live version of the lecture - in this medium, it can only tug at emotions from one's own ability to identify with individual circumstances and events (factual and potential). Eventhough there were a couple of sections that were a little slow, it is an excellent read!

Randy Pausch grew up in my church. I was not fortunate enough to be here at the time he grew up here. I know his mother well and have been able to gain insight into the family through Randy's experiences. Randy is engaging, entertaining, poignant and personal as he provides tips for living life to its fullest.
Randy has been an amazing inspiration to so many people all over the world and I'm sure that God has amazing things in store for him!
Well worth the read!
