3 out of 5 stars Can't port old #'s over on Cingular yet   July 12, 2006
I would like to say that I am fairly happy with the Cingular service, however when purchasing through Amazon.com I spoke with an Amazon representative who told me I would be able to port my old # over on a Cingular account. However after purchasing my phone I found this to be false. It was later explained to me that I would have to cancel my contract and forfeit all savings and deals to do this. Oddly, amazon has it set up so you can port #'s over for all other carriers.

Otherwise, I've found my old service US Cellular gets reception where Cingular does not, such as in the underground L tunnels in chiago. And I've had both phones on me at the same time when finding this out, on multiple occassions.

3 out of 5 stars Cingular service   March 19, 2006

Overall the service is adequate but confirming and adding/upgrading features has been somewhat difficult. Upgrading via the Cingular website failed multiple times and was only resolved via email exchanges. In addition the phone included in the offer failed after three weeks due to a software recall and resulted in a five day period of downtime while I waited for a replacement. Overall I am neutral towards my experience thus far.

1 out of 5 stars Cingular Network Falures   March 9, 2006

Almost every morning I can guarantee see bars on my phone but not having the ability to dial out to anywhere, no matter where I go, and would you like to know why? It is because Cingular is having another network failure nation wide! I had T-mobile previously since its consumption in the US and I never had this problem. Before T-Mobile I used Pac-Bell/AT&T/Cingular and I found T-mobiles prices a whole lot better.
The only thing that has change w/ Cingular as of late that made me switch again is Cingular has a faster internet connection w/ Edge and 3g.

1 out of 5 stars # 1 worst customer service in usa   February 26, 2006

cingular is worst service i have ever seen in usa. customer service is worst in columbia, sc. and dont expect the hand set will be working properly when buy it with cingular service. they wouldn't give you unlock code to use ur handset wherever u want. they want u to stick with them even afeter 2 years long contract with worst service. i heard T-mobile has good connectivity and customer service in other states through my friends. if i have a chance to choose between cingular and T-mobile i would go with T-mobile. so think before you go with cingular.

Excellent plan option providing enough minutes and offers for the competitive rate.
Service and coverage is also very good and mostly reliable.
