This one is the best one! October 24, 2008 I tried the hottest top 2 recommended bluetooth headsets and this one beat those hands down! The others with noise cancelling features make you sound like you're in a tin can. This one has great sound quality and people on the other end don't hear the background noise either. I highly recommend this headset.
Best Yet October 24, 2008 I've had several bluetooth headsets with my cell phones. The quality of the Voyager 510 is by far the best so far and the noise cancelling and volume quality is great also. Walking though the casinos in Vegas and talking to my wife she said she could not hear the slot machines. The only downside is that the actual piece that fits into your ear is not as comfortable as the soft rubber ones.
you get what you pay for October 24, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Compared to smaller models out there, this one is quite bulky & cumbersome. The weight acutally presses into your year & can get painful after a while. Eventually you will get used to it, but not for the tone that comes out of nowhere to let you know you're now disconnected. You haven't moved, the phone hasn't moved, yet you are now disconnected. I bought this on a budget to replace my lost Blue Ant. Then I said screw the budget & went & got another Blue Ant.
bad connection October 23, 2008 This product has a terrible connection, is bulky, doesnt fit on my ear, has small buttons and I never use it. BAD PURCHASE
Incredibly versatile Earset October 21, 2008 I have used the the Voyager 510 for two years. i have used it in every conceivable configuration. It has worked admirably with my two windows mobile devices (xv6700 and 6800). It even worked fairly well doing skype calls on the 6700 but not the 6800. I connect it everyday to my office VOIP phones(grandstream) at work and at home using the BF8 base units. The range is quite good with the base units (about 30ft.)I frequently use my 510's connected to both the base units and my cell phone at the same time. I have used it with my laptop for Skype and MSn calling with great success. The unit is quite rugged and easily stored in the pocket once you learn to turn the boom to vertical. There is no other ear-set this versatile and rugged. It is a thoroughly professional device for people serious about making and receiving clear phone calls. The ear-set is much more secure in the ear than others and allows me to wear it whilst crawling around, upside down and so forth. I use the ear-gels that are provided.
The negative: I have had two units that just quit charging. I suspect the copper charger contacts corroded. In both cases Plantronics replaced them incredibly fast and with very little hassle. If you perspire you have to clean these contacts quickly. They should change them to gold contacts. The base units contacts also corrode quickly here in Hawaii. There is an audio quality problem when used with digital VOIP phones. I believe it is a conflict between the codec( or some other technical conflict) of the ear-set and the phone.I suspect all ear-sets may have this compatibility problem.
