Really? September 19, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I saw so many great reviews on this device, and the price was great, so I purchased it. There is a lot to like about it. Easy to pair. Comfortable and lightweight. I even like the clip to carry it.
The problem? Everyone complains about the audio quality. The adjectives I hear most are "Tin Can" "Too midrangey", but above all, business clients are saying "Call me back from a land line". THIS is unacceptable.
I had a Jawbone for 2 years previous to this. It was uncomfortable and expensive, but nobody ever complained about the audio quality.
Problem with earbud! September 19, 2008 This headset is excellent, BUT it has a very serious problem with the earbud. After using it on a daily basis for about 4 months, the earbud made of rubber just disintegrated!
While this part is replaceable (in a cost of 10$), there's only one online store in the US selling it and they don't have this part for over a month.
While still useable it is very uncomfortable for ongoing use. I hate to do it but I will need to find myself a new headset. I would expect that with this price tag it will last for more than 4 months.
Eh... September 1, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I tried the Z9 based on a recommendation from the field technician at work, whose word I've come to trust. He's been using a Z9 for at least a year, and he's very happy with it.
Me, not so much. I like its size, light weight and relatively intuitive controls, but the sound wasn't especially good on either end, and its voice isolation circuit worked too well, making me sound like a voice synthesizer, according to those with whom I tested it.
Moreover, I found the fit uncomfortable and unstable. If I rested the earbud just inside my ear, it felt liable to fall off with the slightest movement of my head. If I placed the earbud further in so it was more secure, it started to hurt within 15 minutes, and it popped out after a while anyway.
I know the Z9 has its fans, but I'm not one of them.
Initial good impression but poor quality August 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I started off loving this product. Then after 4 months of ownership (actual use perhaps 30 times) the earpiece fell apart requiring me to order a $10 replacement part plus shipping.
Any future owners should anticipate a yearly cost of ownership expense of $60 to $120 per year.
My assessment: poor design and implementation.
Great headset hands free option August 25, 2008 Great headset hands free option
With voice controled dialing and easy adaptable ear clip this is a great headset.
The reception and clarity is 4/5 stars
